MEDIA RELEASE

For Immediate Release
December 2009

Western Canada Home To National Driver Training Franchise “To Drive and Survive”

In the Spring of 2010 individuals will have the opportunity to participate in one of the most exciting franchises in the country…CODE ZERO® . This program has been cited as a Thrill of a Lifetime by individuals of all ages.

CODE ZERO® is an all inclusive turn key franchise aimed at the advanced driver training industry. The training will be very similar to the training done for new police recruits ; in fact, we see a lot of franchisees coming from first responders (fire, police, paramedic).

“Our goal is to establish the most innovative and effective driver training system in the world,” says Norm Friend of CODE ZERO® INTERNATIONAL INC. “As such our corporation is setting its sights on developing programs throughout Norh America as well as Europe and Asia in the next 5 to 10 years. What can Franchisees expect in the next few years? “CODE ZERO® INTERNATIONAL INC. has adopted a rapid but controlled growth strategy to ensure the quality and consistency of our program and provide a strong support base for our franchisees,” says Friend.

With years of experience in the franchise industry and driver training, CODE ZERO® INTERNATIONAL INC. has developed programs for discerning individuals as well as driving enthusiasts. “The company’s corporate goal is to lead the quest for ZERO crashes and collisions by teaching the public how “To Drive and Survive” in any kind of road and/or driving conditions,” says Andrew Field, President and Founder of CODE ZERO® .

The program for the public will be combined with one of that for commercial and/or corporations who want their employees to undergo the course. This program can be tailored to the needs of each company for times and locations. The program has been in existence for a few years and has been associated with the Justice Institute of BC.

Training facilities will be based in Vancouver and consist of 3 days spent in the classroom as well as hands-on driving training for the franchisees and their trainers.

CODE ZERO® has helped hundreds in establishing survival driving techniques; now is the time to help thousands.

FAQ – Why Code Zero

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

WHY CODE ZERO® ?/WIFM?/REAL BENEFITS?

Why should I take a CODE ZERO® course?

What`s in it for me (WIFM)?

What are the REAL benefits of CODE ZERO® … THE BOTTOM LINE?

Everyone should ask these things and here are the answers…

PERSONAL/SOCIETY:

  1. CODE ZERO® SAVES LIVES: The skills taught in CODE ZERO® will have a profound effect on a driver’s ability to prevent a crash or collision.  Let’s face it, ZERO crashes and collisions means ZERO deaths and injuries. PERIOD!
  2. CODE ZERO® PREVENTS INJURIES: Read above!  This point is too important not to read again!
  3. 3. CODE ZERO® IMPROVES OVERALL DRIVING SKILLS: In addition to being a driver who has acquired potentially life-saving skills, a CODE ZERO® driver is a smooth, aware and predictable driver.  The true value of these qualities lies not only in the effect it has on the CODE ZERO® driver and his/her passengers but for all those who share the road with him/her
  4. 4. CODE ZERO® IS ‘SERIOUS FUN’: While designed to save lives and prevent injuries, CODE ZERO® has been called the ‘Thrill of a Lifetime’.  Its roots as a Police Driver-Training Course allows participants to experience the high-intensity, heart-pounding excitement of driving with the added stress  and distraction of lights, sirens and two-way radio… Truly unforgettable!

FINANCIAL:

  1. LOWER INSURANCE COSTS: Basically speaks for itself… Fewer crashes and collisions = Lower Insurance premiums!
  2. LESS VEHICLE ABUSE: Smoothness and finesse behind the wheel translates to less wear and tear on a vehicle because nothing is done in a violent, abusive manner.
  3. LESS BRAKE WEAR: CODE ZERO® drivers look way down the road enabling them to anticipate the need to brake well in advance.  The result is less severe braking and therefore less brake wear.
  4. LESS TIRE WEAR: Because of the skills taught to him/her,  A CODE ZERO® driver will rarely, if ever, hear the tires making any noise!  Screeching, howling tires means that the rubber is being worn off!  (i.e. money down the drain!)
  5. BETTER FUEL ECONOMY: Probably, one of the most significant financial benefits of being a CODE ZERO® driver.  The lessons of proper vision, steering and braking technique that are employed to avoid crashes and collisions, when used in everyday driving (as they should be!) will result in a much more fuel-efficient driver and vehicle…  Much better for the environment too!!!
  6. TAX WRITE-OFF: Since CODE ZERO® is classified as an educational course, the fees are tax-deductible.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

A PROGRAM THAT LITERALLY PAYS YOU TO TAKE IT!

MENU ITEM…      FAQ

QUESTION:     Do I use my car or one of your cars for CODE ZERO® ?

ANSWER:         Both.  It’s important to use your own car for our skill-developing exercises since that is the car you normally drive and mastering the controls of that vehicle are most important for your own safety as well as the safety of others.  You will be a passenger in one of our CODE ZERO® ‘Police Interceptor’ vehicles for the final exercise on our ‘Pursuit Course’ complete with lights, sirens and two-way radios.  It is here that one of our trained instructors will take you for a thrilling, fault-free drive where all of the techniques you have been practicing are put to the test.

QUESTION:     Are the driving exercises abusive to my vehicle?

ANSWER:         Quite the contrary.  First of all, nothing that you do in a CODE ZERO® course is designed to put any undue stress on a roadworthy vehicle.  Secondly, one of the objectives of CODE ZERO® is to make you a smoother, more efficient driver.  For one thing, after you have completed our driving exercises, you will have recognized the value of ‘high-aim vision’ which automatically allows you to anticipate situations well in advance.  The result?  Minimal sudden braking, much less swerving plus well-planned acceleration.

QUESTION:     What if it rains?

ANSWER:         Bring on the rain, please!  Although most people prefer doing things in dry, sunny weather, the CODE ZERO® experience has for more value in slippery, wet conditions.  Inclement weather put much more emphasis on proper vision, steering and braking technique when avoiding a potential crash or collision, making it the perfect learning environment.  Besides you’re nice and dry in the car anyway.  Our instructors are the ones who get wet!

QUESTION:     I just started driving a short time ago, will CODE ZERO® help me?

ANSWER:         Whether you’ve been driving for 6 months or 60 years, CODE ZERO® will help your driving.  However, since our main objective is to help you avoid a crash or collision, some experience behind the wheel (minimum 6 months) is essential.  Basic familiarity with the controls of your vehicle allows you to focus on the skills and techniques that we teach rather than how to maintain a certain speed or perhaps shift gears.  We don’t teach you how to get your Driver’s Licence, we teach you how “to drive and survive”.

QUESTION:     (FROM MANY PARENTS!) My son/daughter has been driving for less than a year and has already had (3) accidents. Can CODE ZERO® help?

ANSWER:         In the vast majority of cases, Yes.  Usually, there are two major factors that must be addressed in order to assist such a driver… Instilling COMPETENCE and building CONFIDENCE.  Achieving both of these goals is a fundamental result of experiencing the CODE ZERO® program.  The carefully designed driving exercises allow participants to practice proper and potentially life-saving driving techniques in a safe environment, immediately providing them with better driving skills. In turn, their improved abilities create a safer and more confident driver.

What we look for in a franchisee

We strongly believe that the success of our franchisees is based on our franchisee-selection process and your desire to succeed.   We consider that one of the most important attributes is your commitment to listen and learn and make constant improvements in the way you operate your franchised business.  In choosing franchisees, preference will be given to applicants who:

  • Appreciate the benefits of working on a team and within a proven system of operation
  • Are disciplined self-starters with a high level of personal integrity and have the desire to build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Are familiar with and involved in the community where the business is located
  • Will actively work in and manage the business
  • Have the funds to invest in the business, as well as the financial ability to survive the start-up phase while drawing only a nominal salary
  • Have the ability to get started within 120 days

The Mutual Investigation Process

We have developed a “Mutual Investigation Process” which allows both parties to exchange information in a sequential manner and proceed at their own pace.  During this process you will be asked to provide adequate information for us to evaluate your potential as a Code Zero® franchisee.  At the same time, you will be receiving sufficient information from us about the franchise opportunity that will allow you to decide if you wish to move forward at each stage of the application process.

Steps

Step 1.  The Initial Enquiry

The first step is to thoroughly read the information above.  If you are still interested in pursuing a Code Zero® franchise, you should complete and submit the Initial On-line Enquiry Form located at the end of this section.

You will receive an introductory email with more information, and a phone call to:

  • Explain the total level of investment and minimum cash requirement
  • Determine your preferred territory
  • Discuss your time frame to opening

Step 2.  Franchise Application

After we have a conversation to determine that you meet our criteria, you will be invited to complete our Confidential Personal History Report and forward it to our Corporate Office for our review.

Step 3.  Discovery Day

If you are qualified, you will move forward in our evaluation process and be invited to a Discovery Day at our corporate office in Vancouver, B.C.  This will give you the opportunity to meet with our senior management team, give you a better sense of whether our franchise opportunity is a good fit for you, and have all your remaining questions answered.

NOTE:
This Mutual Investigation Process has been designed to assist the franchise applicant in determining if a Code Zero® franchise meets their requirements.  The profile contains all of the necessary introductory information to help you in assessing a Code Zero® franchise; however, it does not contain any detailed financial information. Once an application has been submitted, and an applicant has passed the initial qualifying process, more detailed information will be released.

We reserve the right in our sole discretion to change and amend the sequence of events without notice.
